Introduction-
Children’s Day is celebrated in India to raise awareness about the rights, education, and welfare of children. It is celebrated on 14 November every year on the birthday of the first prime minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was known to have been fond of children. On this day, many educational and motivational programs for children are held all over Odisha.Nehru fondly remembered as ‘Chacha Nehru’ or Uncle Nehru, was deeply devoted to children and believed in their potential to shape the future of the nation.
Objective-
- To mark the day of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru birthday.
- To discuss on child rights and RTE for children.
- To aware the children on the concept of climate change.
Narration
To mark this day the ActionAid Association with the collaboration of CCWD, Bhubaneswar conducted the program on Celebration of Children’s Day 2023 at Red Cross Bhawan. In this program more than 90 children from different slum pockets of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation were joined. The guests of this program were-

The program has started by the warm welcome given by Shri. Bhaskar Chandra Pradhan, CCWD. He shared the objective of this program among the participants and guests.

He expressed welcome to the guests and participants. He said that child labour should stop in our state and every child should deserve their right on education. He said that government is taking initiatives to stop child labour in our state and the Mayer is taking all initiatives to make our city child friendly. He said that in every aspect specially in education girls are doing well and empowering themselves.

She congratulates every child on the occasion of children’s day and address every guests. She said former Prime Minister Shri Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was always tried to give a better live to every Indian and every child in our nation. She described that our Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik is doing 5T school and giving cycle, skill training and making Adarsha school for the development of child education in our state. She said every child from Biju Adarsha Colony is deserve to get a quality education. She said blind belief should stop in our community level. She described that our Chief Minister provided different welfare scheme to stop school dropout. She said every child deserve to choose a career by their own passion or choice

He said that ActionAid Association is working in 50 slum pockets under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation with 6000 houses and provided three crore social security benefits in 4 years. He said we have 50 child club in which 1500 childrenare oriented on RTE and child rights.

She congratulates every child on the occasion of children’s day 2023. She said every child should get their rights and develop as a child in their lives. She said that OSCPCR is always working for the protection and promotion of child rights and always trying to create a child friendly environment in community level.

She said that if any child is dropout in our community or having low educational qualification, we can provide them skill building training to empower them and develop their economic condition.

She shared on child club activity and the impact on the children in 50 slum pockets of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.

He shared a valuable story among the children, by this story telling he gave a message to every child to obey their parents and listen to their suggestion to gain the success in their career.

He shared on the work of 50 child club and its benefits for children. He shared that ActionAid Association has been always trying to protect the child rights and spread the information on RTE among children. He said that in COVID-19 pandemic the ActionAid Association has provided the Learning center for children to get back their educational environment.
Then the cultural program has started among the children. The children from different slum pockets were did singing and dancing Infront of the guests. Then the certificate and prize distribution were organized among the children.


Lastly Shiba Sahoo, CCWD was gave vote of thanks to every participant
